Great Wall Motor has confirmed that the Ora 5, its all-electric compact SUV, is on its way to the Pakistani market. The confirmation follows sightings of the car at Karachi Port, with GWM’s local COO Ali Hameed telling media the model “will be launching soon in Pakistan” — though no firm date or price has been announced yet.
What the Ora 5 Is
The Ora 5 is Great Wall’s first dedicated electric SUV under its Ora sub-brand, previously known mainly for retro-styled hatchbacks like the Good Cat. It’s already on sale in China, Thailand, New Zealand, South Africa, and other Asian markets, and GWM appears to be bringing the same global-spec EV version to Pakistan rather than a locally detuned variant.
In terms of size, the Ora 5 is noticeably larger than the hatchbacks currently sold here — it’s longer and wider than the Suzuki Swift, Dongfeng Box, and Kia Stonic — which should mean more front and rear legroom than buyers are used to at this price point.
Battery, Motor, and Range
The unit spotted in Karachi carries the higher-spec battery pack offered on the Ora 5 globally:

This puts the Ora 5 in a similar range and power bracket to other China-made electric SUVs that have entered Pakistan recently, though the confirmed DC fast-charging support is a genuine advantage — many EVs launched locally so far only offer slow AC charging.

Based on the global-spec car, Pakistani buyers can expect a well-equipped SUV rather than a stripped-down “EV for the sake of an EV.” Highlights include:
- 14.6-inch 2K infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto
- 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster
- 360-degree camera with a transparent chassis view
- Adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and forward/rear collision warning with automatic braking
- Heated and ventilated front seats, 6-way power driver’s seat with memory
- Panoramic glass roof and ambient lighting
- 50W wireless phone charging and a 9-speaker audio system
If this equipment list carries over unchanged, the Ora 5 would arrive with a more complete ADAS package than most electric SUVs currently sold in Pakistan.
Launch Timing and Price
GWM has not confirmed a launch date or price for Pakistan. Given that test units have already cleared customs and are physically in the country, an official unveiling in the coming months looks likely — but until GWM makes a formal announcement, treat any specific date or price circulating online as speculation.
