To combat rising fuel prices and urban pollution, the Government of Pakistan has launched the Pakistan Accelerated Vehicle Electrification (PAVE) programme. This initiative provides massive financial incentives for both manufacturers and individual buyers.
Cash Subsidy: A direct subsidy of Rs. 80,000 is provided per electric motorcycle to lower the upfront purchase price.
Target: The government aims to distribute 116,000 e-bikes in the current fiscal year (2025-26).
Financing: Interest-free (0% markup) installment plans are available through the Bank of Punjab and other partner banks.
Eligibility: Pakistani citizens aged 18–65 with a valid driving license or learner’s permit.
Punjab: A 95% discount on registration fees for electric two-wheelers. You only pay 5% of the standard cost.
+1
Sindh: Registration fees are capped at 1% of the vehicle’s value for motorcycles and small EVs.
Token Tax: Most EVs are currently exempt from annual token tax or pay a heavily reduced “lifetime” fee (approx. Rs. 1,800 for bikes).

The Engineering Development Board (EDB) has announced that Pakistan’s first locally manufactured electric car, priced around Rs. 10 Lakh (1 Million), is expected to launch by June 2026 with additional government subsidies to make it even more affordable for middle-class families
